This is an American test pressing of "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" with Rock 'n' Roll Winter on the other side.It only got as far as a test pressing, and was never released !
Here is the pic sleeve for the release in Holland
Don't know if this is supposed to be white or if someone at Harvest just forgot to put more green and yellow ink in the printing machine!
Well,December 1995 saw another release for this classic song,This time it was a 'Live' recording of The Roy Wood Big Band and it managed to get to 59 in the charts (Here in the UK we have a mid week chart that is not published,I heard from 'Inside information' that it got to number 41 in that chart). Also included on the CD is "Santa Clause is coming to town" sung by The Naylor Twins and a new song by Roy called "Lion's Heart".The sleeve was designed by Gill/Magic Arts
In December 2000,Roy teamed up with The Wombles to record "I Wish It Could Be A Wombling Merry Christmas Everyday" a mixture of the Wizzard Christmas hit and the Wombles hit "Wombling Merry Christmas".There were two CD singles released,Here are the promo copies.
These are the 'normal' releases of the single, which made it to Number 22 in the UK charts,CD 1 also includes a video of the single,as well as the Big Band's live version of "I wish it could be Christmas everyday" and The Wombles Christmas hit from 1974 "Wombling Merry Christmas".CD 2 has "The Fat Boy Furry crucial dub groovy acid burrow garage mix" of I wish it could a Wombling Merry Christmas Everyday,as well as a Wombles track (and video) called "Wombles on Parade" The photo on CD 1 was taken by Gill from The Official Roy Wood site
Since I started doing this site,I've had lots of e mails from people saying how much they have enjoyed seeing my collection.A while ago I got one from a guy called Nick DeBenedetto, who said he had some publicity photos from United Artists Records that Woody fans might find interesting and would I like them, not only for you to see,but to keep in the clinc with all my other stuff !! Well I didn't like to say no (cough). This one went out with promo copies of The Move's "Split Ends" compilation....What can I say but Thanks a lot Nick !
The UA publicity photo for "No Answer"
I always thought the American sleeve and sound quality of Wizzard Brew was much better than the UK version.
